Suleman Taseer assassination case
Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi has indicted Mumtaz Qadri accused in former governor Punjab Suleman Taseer assassination case.
Judge Ikhlaq Ahmad of ATC No 2 Rawalpindi heard the case in Adiala Jail here on Monday.During the course of hearing accused Mumtaz Qadari confessed before the judge he had killed Suleman Taseer.
The court also issued summons of prosecution witnesses to record their statements.
It may be recalled that police has presented list of 49 witnesses in challan. First of all Mumtaz Qadri had given his affidavit to investigation teams and his written statement to police. He confessed his offence for the first time when he appeared before the court. The hearing of the case has been adjourned till February, 26 2011.
